IMPORTANT UPDATES ABOUT THE 2012 RHODE ISLAND REBELS

Updates and procedural changes for 2012:

-  We will be basing our program out of the new Bomb Squad Baseball Company in Wakefield, RI.  All of our practices, and team events will take place at the BSBC unless otherwise noted.

ALL payments will go to the Bomb Squad Baseball Company.

-  We would like to welcome Mrs. Ann Sebastian to the Rebel family.  Ann will be taking on much of the administrative duties for the Rebels, to provide our coaches and staff with the opportunity to focus solely on the player development and team coordination.

-  Please contact Ann with any questions about the logistics of the Rebels program via e-mail or at the Bomb Squad Baseball Company (401) 284-0411.

-  Welcome aboard Don Coyne and Deb Weinreich, two notable figures in the Rhode Island sports community from their contributions to local television (Coyne) and print (Weinreich) media.  See the Media page for their bios and responsibilities with the 2012 Rebels.

REBEL PARENTS AND PLAYERS:

Please take a few minutes to read this article about newly inducted Newport Gulls' Hall of Fame Member Rusty Begnaud.

"RUSTY RETURNS TO THE GULLS' NEST"
from www.necbl.com

Begnaud, who lived with the Gamache family during his summer with the Gulls in 2002, and was a minor-league teammate of Phil Davidson in the Royals' system, was paralyzed after a tragic accident at a hotel pool ended his career and left him paralyzed from the chest down.

Rusty's story is a touching one, and reminds us that the lessons learned from the game go far beyond any field or clubhouse.
